Civita Orvieto Siena

In November 1999, we took several day trips from Florence to the hill cities of the Civita, Orvieto and Seina.

Each a hilltop city offers considerable culture while maintaining its regional identity.  Some of these streets have changed little since medieval times.  The Civita, now occupied primarily by archeologists,  illustrates a sense of continuity with the past and the defensive goals of the city founders.

These photos were all taken with Canon Rebel EOS mostly with available light.
