Taormina
We took a day trip to Taormina from Siracusa. Taormina is on a hill on the East side of Sicily, North of Mount Etna. It offers picturesque views in nearly any direction you might look. It is popular with tourists who arrive in cars, or from cruise ships. The magnificent Greek Theatre was included in scenes of Woody Allen's The Mighty Aphrodite. These photos were taken with a digital Sony Mavica CD-300. They are reduced in resolution to speed up loading. Picturesque scenes about town. This beautiful and very intricate praesepio is in a small chapel just outside the main part of town. It was too large to capture in one single shot. |
Shop windows and displays. Colorful parade of traditional Sicilian music, wagons and dancers. |
