Italy (Campania)

Naples

We arrived in Naples by ferry from Palermo.  We stayed several days to re-visit the world-class Archeological Museum and tour the old city.

We couldn't arrange lodging at a convent, so we made reservations at the Best Western Paridiso through the Internet.  We were not disappointed.  The panoramic view of Naples and Mount Vesuvius from the breakfast terrace was excellent.  The hotel staff were courteous and helpful.  The nearby inclined-railway provides frequent and fast transportation down to sea-level and other land transportation.

We purchased Campania ArteCards for 13 Euros that was worth much more than we paid in free museum admissions (and discounts on purchases), three days of bus and subway transport, one round-trip on the Circumvesuvia railroad, and more that we didn't even have an opportunity to use.  Needless to say, we highly recommend this card as a great value.  For more information as to where to purchase, please go to the web-site http://www.napoliartecard.com
